Finding Home

And they lived happily ever after.

I did it! I just sent the manuscript of Raising Evangeline to Curiosity Quills, my publisher. I’ve got a hard copy that I painstakingly went through this past week, and I’ll drive it over to my parents’ so they can be the first and only readers of this sequel. I don’t know if CQ will accept it, but I do know that I’m happy with it. Meanwhile, my boss at my new, second job asked me to stay through April and into May. I answered an enthusiastic, “Sure!” but I wonder how I’ll sustain it. I’m still standing, and am in good health, so there’s no reason not to give it a whirl. I suspect that my writing obligations will slow down, as I have to wait until edits come for Vinehart Farm, and a decision is made for Raising Evangeline. I’ll use my extra time to be with my girls.

Something big is happening today in our house. My husband is painting our bedroom a lemony green, with a darker contrast on our large double closet doors. I won’t look until he’s well into it, but for us it’s a way of saying, “Out with winter!” My daughter in college has been taking some lovely photos of Lake Champlain. I’ve attached one. Doesn’t she have a good eye?

Have a good week,
