Just a few months.
You know how some authors have all sorts of jobs before they really make it big with their books? And you read on their biography blurbs that they worked as clerks or bartenders or dog walkers as they wrote furiously in between? Well, starting Wednesday, I’m taking on a second job as a mail sorter at a local manufacturer, and I’m looking at it as gathering experience for future scenes. It’s a temporary job, probably the next three months, and though I’ll have some long days and nights, it’s the right thing to do for my family at this time. So when you get your mail during the day, think of me singing along with the radio as I sort and deliver, and write furiously in between.
