So many things intersecting, and they all involve change.
We dropped our oldest daughter off at college on Friday. Meanwhile, our second daughter starts at a new school tomorrow. I go back to work today on my new fall term hours, and my nephew got married yesterday. I’m also in the vortex of selling Peace Cottage, madly doing edits on Vinehart Farm, and starting dialogue on the sequel to Peace Cottage, yet unnamed. So much change! There’s nothing to be done but to breathe through it and delight in the time for wearing wild tights again.
Summer is my favorite season, and I’ve got a little less than a month left. What else is there that I haven’t done to make winter bearable? More winter sweaters, I think, and more cross-country skiing. And maybe, just maybe, a week’s winter vacation in Santa Fe. That would be nice, and, after all, I can write from anywhere. But back to today. Back to work. And back to school.
